Eloy T. Fuentez, 89, entered eternal rest Saturday, January 10, 2015 at Gila Regional Medical Center.

Visitation will be held Thursday, January 15, 2015 at 4 o'clock in the evening at Baca's Funeral Chapels. The Holy Rosary will be recited at 6 o'clock by Dr. Gilbert Arizaga. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at ten o'clock in the morning Friday, January 16, 2015 at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. Concluding services and interment will follow at Memory Lane Cemetery with Father Paulus Kao officiating.

He was born January 14, 1925 to Monica and Justo Fuentez in Hurley, New Mexico. He served in the Army in WWII Company B 304th Infantry Regiment 76th Infantry Division where he received several medals; Purple Heart, Good Conduct, World War II Victory, European African Middle Eastern Service and American Theater Service. He was employed by the Veterans Hospital at Fort Bayard Medical Center and then later was hired at Kennecott Mines as a haulage truck driver where he later retired from. He was a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. He also was a self taught musician playing the guitar, accordion and harmonica. He was a beloved father, grandfather and great-grandfather and will be truly missed,

He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years Erlinda Fuentez, his son Eloy (Sonny) Fuentez Jr. (Josie), his daughter Betty Apodaca (Rito), his brother Paul Fuentez, two sisters; Helen Salas and Virginia Widner. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by two daughters Jesusita and Martha Fuentez, a grandson, Antonio F. Gonzalez Jr., his parents, three brothers; Amado, Ysidro and Ysidoro and a sister Dolores Gomez.

Serving as pallbearers are Arthur, Armando and Armando Jr. Gonzales, Anthony Aguirre, Ernest and Erik Fuentes.
