Mary Moyer Kimble, 103, was born October 6, 1911, in Hanover, NM, and went to heaven on January 11, 2015, at Silver City Care where she resided for over nine years.

She grew up in Hanover in a two story home formerly a hotel along with one brother and three sisters. She graduated from Hurley High School in 1929. She received her two year teaching certificate from UNM and then her BA in elementary education from WNMU. She taught school for twenty years starting in Fierro and Bayard, NM, and then many years in the Ysleta District in El Paso, TX.

She married the late Thomas Kimble on Thanksgiving Day in 1932 with the wedding breakfast being held at the Bear Mountain Lodge. Mr. Kimble was a J. C. Penney manager in Silver City and Miami, AZ. He later managed Hardware House and Gifts located where Sears is now.

A special birthday celebration was held here in Silver City for her 100th birthday with many family members and close friends attending Five generations of the Oberg family were represented with Mary Kimble, Greta Oberg, Troy Oberg, Loren Oberg, and Landyn Oberg.

She is survived by her son Gary Kimble (wife Alta Goforth) of Pagosa Springs, CO, daughters Greta K. Oberg of Silver City and Francil K. Fiess (husband Berry) of Orlando, FL, nine grandchildren, and seventeen great grandchildren, and two great, great grandchildren.

Cremation has taken place at Terrazas Funeral Chapels. A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to your favorite charity in her name or First United Methodist Church here in Silver City.
