Velma Walker died peacefully on Tuesday January 27, 2015 in Silver City, NM at the age of 98.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of Bright Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at a later date in Ozark, Arkansas. No local services will be held.

Velma is survived by daughters Linda Labasky of Hutchinson, PA, Sharon Baum of Silver City, NM and nephew John Ashcraft of Rochester NY. Grandchildren Debbie (Fred) Garbin of Pennsylvania, Kim (Dan) Otero of Silver City, NM, Ken (Amy) Vaslavsky of Pennsylvania, and Candi Kocker of California. Great grandchildren James King, Matthew Garbin, Sari Otero, Nichole Legatzke, Matthew Legatzke, Tyler Brinton, Abby Bromwell and Jackie Kocker.

She is preceded in death by her parents John and Reola Ashcraft, brothers William Harley and James Franklin, husband Walter Walker and son Walt Walker.

Velma was born on September 4, 1916 in Wellington Kansas and has been living in New Mexico since 1947.
