Florence Eva Cook, formerly of Poland, Ohio passed away, peacefully on December 29, 2014 in Silver City, New Mexico.

Florence was born on March 19, 1922, in Youngstown, Ohio, to George Walter McNamee and Florence (Watkins) McNamee. She graduated from Boardman High School in 1941. During her high school years Florence met James V. Cook. They were married on November 25, 1942 in El Paso, Texas, while Jim was stationed with the U.S. Army at Fort Bliss. Mrs. Cook was initially a homemaker, but began working in the Accounting Department at K-Mart in 1964. Florence attended Youngstown State University on a part-time basis in the 1960s and 1970s. She accepted positions of increasing responsibility through the years, ultimately attaining the position of Accounting Manager for MS Consultants, Inc., a position she held for 20 years until her retirement in 1996. Florence was active in the Mr. and Mrs. Saxon Club, Bears Club and the Steel Valley Chapter 13 American Ex-Prisoners of War. In her later years, she participated in several women's bowling leagues, which she thoroughly enjoyed.

Florence was preceded in death by her husband, Jim, in 2004, her parents and her nine siblings; brothers Fernley, Levi, George, Alfred and Paul and sisters Thelma Stahl, Eunice Kloha, Doris Long and Shirley Mesa.

She is survived by her son, Kevin (Sylveen Robinson-Cook), of Silver City, New Mexico; daughter, Pamela Sacui, of New Orleans, Louisiana; and four grandchildren: Sara (Scott) Thomas of Portland, Oregon; Caitlin Sacui of New Orleans, Louisiana; Colin Cook of Iowa City, Iowa; and Broderick Cook of Las Cruces, New Mexico.

A Graveside Service along with her husband will be held Thursday, February 5 at 1 pm at Fort Bayard National Cemetery with full military honors.

In accordance with Florence's wish, the family requests that, in lieu of flowers or gifts, donations be made to the donor's favorite charity. Cremation has taken place at Terrazas Funeral Chapels and Crematory.
