Ray M. Delfin, 72, a Silver City resident, passed away peacefully Monday, February 2, 2015 at Gila Regional Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.

A funeral mass will be celebrated at 11 o'clock in the morning Friday, February 6, 2015 at St. Francis Newman Center Parish officiated by Father Anthony Basso.

Ray was born in San Lorenzo to Ramon and Aurora (Misquez) Delfin. He worked as a surveyor for UV Industries, Anaconda, Chino Mines and Cobre Mines. He was diligent and a hard worker with a great passion for education. He attained two Associate Degrees, a Bachelor's and Master's Degree at Western New Mexico University. He was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle and friend. He will be deeply missed.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years Rose Delfin of Silver City, who was always by his side, his children Tony Delfin of Santa Fe, Ray Delfin III of Silver City, Marielena Jacome (Chris) of Phoenix, AZ and Monica Dunn (Michael) of Silver City; grandchildren Kaylee Delfin of Albuquerque, Dakota Dunn of Silver City and Tanner Dunn of Tucson; siblings Randy Delfin (Rosie) of Santa Clara, Barbara Rivera (Alvaro) of Silver City, Richard Delfin (Ida) of Albuquerque and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents and granddaughter Destiny Delfin.
