A. Leon Roark, 88, resident of Animas passed away Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at Gila Regional Medical Center in Silver City.

A graveside service is set for Monday, February 16, 2015 at 10 o' clock in the morning at Valley View Cemetery in Cotton City with Rick Walter officiating. Veteran Honors will be accorded by the U.S. Army Honor Guard.

Leon was born January 19, 1927 to Luella Cox and Waldo Walt Roark in Manter, Kansas. In 1943 the family moved from Kansas to this area. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict from 1952 to 1954 and served in the Army Reserves until 1960. He was a Christian by faith and spent his life farming and in the construction industry. His favorite past time was fishing.

He is survived by 2 sons, Wayne and wife Kimberly of Animas and Jay Roark of Fort Worth, TX; 3 grandchildren, Mark, Heather and Brandy Roark and 3 great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were 3 brothers and 3 sisters.
