Richard Villegas, 69, a resident of Hurley, passed away Thursday, February 19, 2015 at his home with his wife at his side.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, February 27, 2015 at 11 o'clock in the morning at Fort Bayard National Cemetery. Dr. Gilbert Arizaga officiating.

Richard was born October 7, 1945, in Deming NM to Miguel and Isabel (Valles) Villegas. He attended Deming High School. He later moved to Las Cruces and graduated from Las Cruces High. After graduating he enlisted in the United States Navy and served proudly. When he returned home he worked construction as a surveying engineer.

He is survived by his wife Mary Villegas, brother Victor Villegas from Las Cruces, Sisters Minnie Garcia from Las Cruces, MaryHelen Garcia (Danny) from Abilene, TX and numerous nephews and nieces.

He is preceded in death by his parents Miguel and Isabel Villegas, brothers Manny and Mike Villegas, sisters Blanca Garcia, Anita Jaime and Lydia Villegas.
