Bessie Maestas, 88, a resident of Bayard, entered eternal rest Saturday, March 7, 2015 at the Silver City Care Center.

Visitation will be begin at 5 o'clock in the evening Sunday, March 15, 2015 at Baca's Funeral Chapels. The Holy Rosary will be recited at 6 o'clock by Deacon Jerry Bustillos. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at 10 o'clock in the morning Monday, March 16, 2015 at St. Francis Newman Center Father Anthony Basso officiating. Concluding services and interment will follow at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Cemetery.

She was born April 15, 1926, to Guadalupe and Maria Lopez. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Survivors include her son Adolfo Maestas; sisters Anna L. Vargas, Helen Villalobos and Natalia (Richard) Ybarra of Silver City, grandchildren Tina Maestas of Wikieup, AZ, Shannon Gideon and her husband Oscar of Gilbert, AZ, Joe Maestas and his wife, Brenda of Mesa, AZ and Matt Maestas and his wife Jennifer of Gilbert AZ and Christopher Maestas, a special Godson Freddy Diaz and 13 Great- Grandchildren.

Casket bearers will be Freddy Diaz, Gilbert Abeyta, Henry Villalobos, David Silva, Danny Castillo and Richard L Ybarra. Honorary pallbearers will be her son Adolfo Maestas and all her Grandchildren, Great Grandchildren and Richard P. Ybarra.

She was preceded in death by her son Ruben Maestas and her husband Frank B. Maestas, her brothers Adolfo, Danny and Alvino Lopez.
