Thomas Lavern Brookhouser, 65, a resident of Deming, passed away Thursday March 12, 2015 at Sierra Medical Center in El Paso.

Visitation will be Tuesday March 17, 2015 from 3 to 6 at Baca's Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be Wednesday afternoon at 2 at Baca's Funeral Chapel. His family will officiate and honors will be accorded by the U. S. Army Honor Guard. Cremation will follow and inurnment will take place at a later date.

Thomas was born October 31, 1949 in Tacoma, Washington to Thomas L. and Marjorie Brookhouser. He entered the United States Army in 1967 and retired in 1989 after 22 years of service to his country. He has been a resident of Deming for 8 years having moved here from Tacoma, Washington. He was very family oriented and enjoyed golfing and fishing. His family remembers him as one of the best storytellers they ever heard.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Afton N. Brookhouser of Deming; his mom, Marjorie Brookhouser of Deming; daughter, Chrysies Bray of Tacoma, WA; son Thomas Lavern Brookhouser of Tacoma, WA; brothers, Dan Brookhouser of Tucson, AZ, Fred Brookhouser of Washington, Mike Brookhouser of Montana, and Bobby Brookhouser of Deming; sisters, Sandra Hastings of Deming, Ruth Kemp of Texas, Tina Lunschen of Tucson, AZ; and 8 grandchildren who he was very proud of.

He was preceded in death by his father.
