Ignacio "Nacho" V. Jaurequi, 86, a resident of Hurley, NM passed away at his home on Wednesday, April 15, 2015 surrounded by his loving family.

He was born July 30, 1928 in Hurley, NM to Juan T. and Luisa Villalobos Jaurequi. Ignacio retired from Kennecott Copper Mines after 40 years of service. He was an avid Local 890 union member. He was a Hurley police officer for five years. Nacho was an active man till his last days. He loved hunting and fishing with his sons and grandsons. His love for life and his family was all but unconditional. Such a simple, humble man; was know for his kindness and his jokes. Always ready to give anyone a helping hand.

He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years Cecilia of the family home; two daughters, Olga Jaurequi-Sauceda (Fred) of Albuquerque; Ermalinda Jaurequi of Hurley; three sons, Victor Jaurequi (Judy) of Las Cruces; Richard Jaurequi (Irma) of Deming; David Jaurequi (Lori) of Mimbres; eighteen grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren; three brothers, Joe Jaurequi (Consuelo) of Silver City; Frankie Jaurequi (Maxine) of Las Cruces; Alex Jaurequi (Pattie) of Silver City; two sisters, Teresa Cervantez of Tucson, AZ; Mary Archuleta (Arthur) of Silver City; sister-in-law, Mary Ann Jaurequi. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Johnny Jaurequi; two sisters, Anita Madrid and Carmen Quintanar; one grandson, Robert Grijalva.

Visitation will be Monday, April 20 from 6-7pm with the holy rosary to begin at 7pm with Guillie Macias reciting. Cremation will take place at Terrazas Crematory.
