Baltazar Baca, 76, a Columbus resident passed away Sunday, April 26, 2015 at Hobbs Health Care Center in Hobbs, New Mexico.

Visitation will begin at 4 o'clock Thursday, April 30, 2015 at Baca's Funeral Chapel with the prayer vigil there that evening at 6 o'clock led by Guillermina Macias. Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 10 o'clock in the morning Friday, May 1, 2015 at Holy Family Mission Catholic Church in Columbus with Father Ronald Machado officiating. Concluding services and interment will follow at Valley Heights Catholic Cemetery.

Baltazar was born April 16, 1939 to Maria de Jesus Portillo and Roberto Baca in Cuauhtémoc, Chihuahua, Mexico. He was a Columbus resident since 1978 coming from Mexico. He was a communicant of the Catholic Church.

He is survived by wife, Gloria Baca of the home; 3 sons, Baltazar, Heraclio and Luis Carlos Baca; 11 daughters, Yadira Perez, Norma and Yazmin Baca, Luzelia Vazquez, Jaqueline Duran, Camelia Bencomo, Linda Galaviz, Leticia Marquez, Olga De La Torre, Patzy Morales and Nelda Castillo; 6 sisters, Esperanza Gonzalez, Martha Ordonez, Leonila Baca, Marina Perez, Lucila and Apolonia Baca; 47 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by parents, Roberto and Maria de Jesus Baca; brother, Roberto Baca and daughter, Roxana Gomez.

Pallbearers will be Patricio Duran, Jose Marquez, Heraclio Rodriguez, Luis Carlos Baca, Baltazar Baca and Raul Torres.
