Joe Alfredo Armendariz, 84, Deming resident passed away early Monday morning May 4, 2015 at Casa de Oro in Las Cruces.

The graveside memorial service will be Friday May 8, 2015, Eleven O'clock in the morning at Mountain View Cemetery with Tanya Chavez presiding.

Joe "Pollo," as he was affectionately known, was born March 10, 1931 in Deming to Theresa Boatman and Joe A. Armendariz.   He worked as a cook and chef for many restaurants around the state of New Mexico.   He was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church and volunteered at the Senior Center.

Survivors include 5 sons,Chris Armendariz of Deming,Pete Armendariz and wife, Jessica of Deming, Julian Armendariz and wife Emma of Albuquerque, Joe Armendariz and wife Annette of Gallup, Gabriel Armendariz and companion Dena of Las Cruces; 4 daughters, Irene Ybarra and husband Arturo of Las Cruces, Vera Woolf and companion Don Montgomery of Alamogordo, Carol Molina and husband Manuel of Grants, Maggie Gonzales and companion Tony of Morenci, Arizona; 34 grandchildren and 58 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Theresa Armendariz and his wife, Carolina in September 27, 2009.
