Janice (Jan) Kay Wycoff, 66, of Deming, passed away at home on Tuesday May 26, 2015 surrounded by her husband and sons after an eleven year battle with cancer.

Jan was born in Wichita, Kansas to Jerry and Pat Fenton on July 10, 1948. She went to high school at Orange Glen High School in Escondido, CA and graduated in 1966. She went on to earn a degree in Health & Physical Education from the University of Montana and a Master's in Education from Western New Mexico University. "Granny" as she was fondly called by her fellow teachers, taught at Deming Middle School from 1991 - 2009 and continued to serve as a substitute teacher until 2012. Throughout those years she also coached volleyball, track and cross-country.

Jan is preceded in death by her father, Jerry and brother Ted. She is survived by her husband, John; sons, J.D. and wife Lisa and James of Deming; stepdaughter, Melissa of Havertown, PA; brothers, Steve and Jerry of CA; mother, Pat of Deming and the "precious jewels of her life", grandchildren, Allison, Samantha, Nicole and Tyler all of Deming.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the "Granny Jan" Wycoff Memorial Scholarship Fun at First New Mexico Bank, Account No 0028897401, 300 S. Gold, Deming, NM. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to all the caring staff of the Cancer Center at Gila Regional Medical Center, Yvonne Facio, Ambercare Hospice, Tito Valdez, Jose Valdez Jr. And all of her many friends, especially Blanca Holguin and Margo Hernandez.

Granny's spirit is soaring...as high as eagles dare to fly.

Cremation has been entrusted to Baca's Funeral Home and a memorial service for family and friends will be scheduled at a later date.
