RobertHawkinsRobert Milton Hawkins 100 of Buckhorn, NM passed away Friday, June 12, 2015 at Fort Bayard Medical Center. A Viewing will be held on Monday, June 15, 2015 at The Gila Valley Baptist Church, Gila, New Mexico at 11:00 am, and a Funeral Service to follow. Interment will be held at the Mesa Cemetery.

Robert was born in Jayton, Texas, his parents Samuel Robert and Eliza Antonia Davenport Hawkins. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Ruby Lee Gibson and a son-in-law Warren (Nugget) Owens and one grandchild Christopher.

He is survived by one daughter Robbie Owens, three grandsons, Warren (Korin) Owens, David Owens, Layne (Mistie) Owens, grandchildren; Cameron (Ashley), Jessica (Mike), Erica, April, A.J., Brekah, Nathanial, great great grandchildren Cooper, Miles, Wyatt, Crew and Indie.

Rob worked many odd jobs. He worked on ranches, worked for the Forest Service fighting fires and building fences. One of the fences he worked on is still standing on Moon Ranch. He also drove a gasoline truck for Alvin Franks. At the beginning of WWII Rob joined the Navy's Const. Battallion and spent 3 years in the service. In 1960 Rob bought a ranch in the Gila area.

Pallbearers are Keith Brown, Ken York, Kenan Ivy, Layne Owens, John Hawkins, Ben Hawkins, Honorary pallbearers are Warren Owens, David Owens, Christopher Owens, Kurt Brown, Kendall Brown, Chance Means, Calab Kartchner, Wyatt Kartchner and Byron Trammell.
