Tony Mendoza 01Tony Mendoza 02Antonio "Tony" G. Mendoza, 83, a resident of Silver City, NM entered eternal rest Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at Gila Regional Medical Center in Silver City, NM.

He was born June 17, 1932 in Fierro, NM to Gilberto C. and Francisca Gonsalez Mendoza.

Mr. Mendoza served his country with the U.S. Marine Corp. during the Korean War. He was a member of the Drill Team in Washington, DC Marine Barracks. He served as a Councilman for the Town of Silver City. He had a love for guns and had a large collection of them. The love for guns had him outdoors hunting which he enjoyed.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Amelia of the family home; one son, Robert Mendoza of Choctaw, OK; two daughters, Victoria Mendoza of Santa Clara; Frances Mendoza of Silver City; eight grandchildren, Edward, Keisha, Joseph, Timothy, Tanya, Brandon, Richard and Stefani; twenty-eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sons, Gilbert and Luis Mendoza.

Viewing will be Tuesday, June 30 from 9:30-10am at Terrazas Funeral Chapels with the prayer vigil and holy rosary to begin at 10am with Deacon Bill Holguin reciting. The funeral mass will follow at 11am with Father Ciprian officiating. Concluding services interment will follow at Fort Bayard National Cemetery with full military honors.

Pallbearers will be Keisha Mendoza Priddy, Richard and Timothy Mendoza, Manuel and Gabriel Vargas, Brandon Mendoza.
