Karen Peterson Swapp, 73, a resident of Silver City, NM entered eternal rest Monday, June 29, 2015 at her residence.

She was born July 5, 1941 in St. Johns, AZ to George A. Peterson and Winifred Lewis.

Karen retired from Sierra Communications in 2008 after 30 plus years.

She loved Hummingbirds and Chihuahuas especially enjoyed and cherished Teddies. She loved to play her favorite computer game "Bejeweled".

She is survived by four daughters, Melanie K. Rogers (Mark) of Silver City; Joysan Scoggin (Bryan) of Sahurita, AZ; Stephanie Duran (Gilbert) of Deming; Jennifer Swapp of Deming; eleven grandchildren, Keri, Dustin, Ron, Shawn, Cory, Joshua, Jeromy, John, Justin, Kristen and Taylor; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Carma Yost (Bob) of Kingman, AZ; Macrena Reader (Jack) of Silver Creek, GA.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, James Melburn Swapp.

Visitation will be on Monday, July 6, 2015 from 10-11am at Terrazas Funeral Chapels with the Funeral Service to begin at 11am with Will Perkins officiating. Concluding services with an interment will be at Memory Lane Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Ron, Shawn and Cory Rogers, Dustin Hotchkiss, Jeromy and Joshua Scoggin, John Freeman and Justin Swapp.
