Clayton R. Jackson, 83, a longtime resident of Silver City passed away Sunday, June 28, 2015.
Visitation will be held Friday, July 3, 2015 at 9 O'clock in the morning at Baca's Funeral Chapels. A funeral service will follow at 10 O'clock with Minister Duane Springer of the Bayard Street Church of Christ officiating. Concluding services and interment will follow at Memory Lane Cemetery.
Clayton was born August 18, 1931, in Beedeville, Arkansas. He was the son of the Late Jacob and Josephine Jackson and his Late Step dad, Louis McCleyea. On November 29, 1948 in Augusta Arkansas, Clayton married Ina Marie Dixson of 66 years. Living in California, Clayton farmed until 1964 when he was called back to work for Kennecott Copper Mines. He purchased some property and a house in North Hurley and rebuilt it and made it a home. Later on he made his home in Silver City. He enjoyed planting his tomatoes in his garden, fishing and traveling in his RV, visiting his children and family. He was a member of the Bayard Street Church of Christ.
Clayton is survived by Four Sons, Allan Jackson wife Terri of Silver City NM, Charlie Lee Jackson, of El Paso, TX., Jerry Jackson and Becky Jackson of Rock Springs, WY., Clay Jackson wife Billie of Tucson, AZ., Two Daughters, Barbara Hart, husband Patrick of Silver City, NM. And Rita Jenkins, husband Marshall of Hobbs, NM., his sister Arlie Rea Neldon of Fennville, MI, Two Brothers Charlie Lee Jackson of Grand Haven, MI and Walter Lee McCleyea of Beedeville, AR., 14 Grand children 31 Great Grand children and 3 Great Great Grand children. Dakota Morales, Brian Pierce wife Glenda, children (Donavan, Dustin & Shylean Pierce), Donavan's children GG (Xander & Riley Pierce) Dustin's son GG (Cianan Pierce), Crystal Woods children (Cassidy & Logan Woods), Tammy Sherfield husband Adam, children (Haley & Easton Sherfield), Jim Jackson Jr. Wife Tiffany children (Jacob & Julian Jackson), Michelle Parker, husband Joel, daughter (Madeline Parker), Sheri Jackson's daughter (Audrey Jackson) , Jason Jackson and Dusti's children (Haley Jackson, Aubrey Closson, Johnathan Cooke, Kaitlyn Closson, Evan Closson and Ryleigh Closson), (Sidney Jackson & Tyler Jackson), Juanita Jordan and husband Kent, children (Chrystal, Tucker & Sebastian), Ray Jackson's daughter (Renee Jackson), Trisha Agerton, children (Jacob and Adam Kearney, Nathan Prevedel and Kali Prevedel), Teri Witts children (Sean Kearney and Tiesha Parker), Trent Kearney and son James.
Clayton was preceded in death by his wife Laverne Ina Marie Jackson, Son Jimmy L. Jackson, Daughter in Law Pam Jackson, Grandson John Pierce and four Brothers, Leonard, Joe, Thilmore and Jacob Jackson and his sister Ercel McCleyea.
Serving as Pallbearers are sons- Allan Jackson of Silver City, N.M, Charlie Lee Jackson of El Paso, TX, Jerry Jackson of Rock Springs, WY., Clay Jackson of Tucson, Arizona, and grandsons Jason Jackson of Albuquerque, NM, Tyler Jackson of Tucson, AZ and Brian Pierce of Spokeann, WA.
