Julio Mauricio Acosta Mendez, 71, a longtime Deming resident passed away Saturday, July 4, 2015 at Mountain View Regional Medical Center.

Visitation will be Thursday, July 9, 2015 from 4 to 6 pm at Baca's Funeral Chapel. Funeral service will take place Friday, July 10, 2015 at 10 o'clock in the morning at Baca's Funeral Chapel with Pastor Fierro officiating. Concluding services and interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery.

Julio Mauricio was born April 23, 1944 in Madera, Chihuahua, Mexico to Bertha Mendez and Gabino Acosta. He came to Deming at a very young age coming from Mexico. He was a hard worker, working in the agriculture, mining and lastly construction. He was a member of the New Life Apostolic Church.

He is survived by his wife, Manuela Acosta of the home; 2 sons, Mauricio Acosta Jr. Of Deming and Joel Acosta of San Diego, CA; 2 daughters, Alexandra Trujillo and husband, Jorge of Deming and Annabelle Acosta of Phoenix, AZ; 2 brothers, Raul and Isidro Acosta of Mexico and 6 grandchildren, Isaac, Abraham, Samuel and Noah Acosta, Jorge Luis and Mariana Trujillo all of Deming.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Gabino and Bertha Acosta.

Serving as pallbearers are Jorge Trujillo, Jorge Luis Trujillo, Mauricio Jr. Acosta, Joel Acosta, Ricardo Regalado and Alfredo Martinez.
