Barbara Ann Melton, 78, a longtime resident of Deming passed away Wednesday July 22, 2015 at Memorial Medical Center in Las Cruces.

Visitation will be Monday July 27th from 10 to 2 at Baca's Funeral Chapel where funeral services will begin at 2 o'clock with Bon Simmons officiating. Concluding services and interment will follow at Mt. View Cemetery.

Barbara was born September 26, 1936 in Hatch to Clyde and Ruby (Tidwell) Black. She married Kenneth C. Melton on March 1, 1963 and made Deming their home. She enjoyed doing crafts and crocheting special items for her family.

She is survived by her husband, Kenneth C. Melton of the home; son, James "Jim" T. Brown of Springfield, VA, stepson, Dirk C. Melton (Teresa) of Mesa, AZ; daughter, Debra Joanne Lewis (Terry) of Las Cruces, NM; brother, Walter Black of Hatch; grandchildren, Sean Thomas Brown, Levi, Eli, Rebecca, Carrie and Anita Melton; and 9 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two stepsons, Kenneth Ugene Melton and Kyle Lynn Melton.
