Arles D. Offutt, 86, a longtime resident of Deming passed away Thursday August 13, 2015 at Mimbres Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services will be this Saturday, August 22, 2015 at 2 o'clock in the afternoon at the Ninth Street Church of Christ. Concluding services and interment will follow at Mt. View Cemetery. Ben Brumfield will officiate.

Arles was born January 7, 1929 in Hedley, Texas to Doyal and Muriel (Hendricks) Offutt. He served his country honorably in the United States Air Force and locally owned and operated New Mexico Smelter and Refinery for many years. Arles was a member of the Ninth Street Church of Christ and enjoyed spending time with his family playing domino's, cards and reading western books.

He is survived by his daughters, Phyllis Ann Lawhorn and Bonnie Lynn Arrington (Brian) of Deming; his sister, Mamie Rackley of El Paso, TX; 3 grandchildren, Jesse Lawhorn (Kimberly), Tina Lawhorn, and Jeffrey Arrington, and 5 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Barbara Offutt on January 12, 2005.

Pallbearers will be Jeffrey Arrington, Robert Offutt, Paul Offutt, Joe Moncada, Cliff Bladdick and Darrel Rackley. Honorary bearers are Kevin Baca, Tim Johnston, and Brandon Devlin.
