Mary Catherine Reynolds Reams, of Scottsdale, Ariz., passed away on July 27, 2015. She was born Aug. 24, 1922, in Etowah, Tenn.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William David Reams Jr.; her parents; and two sisters. Mrs. Reams graduated from Carson-Newman Baptist College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in education and received her master of arts from Western New Mexico University in Silver City.

She was an educator in the Silver City Consolidated School System for 30 years and was church choir director of the First Baptist Church in Silver City for 16 years.

Mrs. Reams is survived by her daughters, Carolyn Mock of Phoenix, Ariz., and Catherine Hill of Scottsdale; five grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; a niece, Jackye Ann Day of Texas; a great-niece; and several great-nephews.

She was a member of P.E.O. Chapter BL in Scottsdale and past member of Chapter AG in Silver City, and a member of Delta Kappa Gamma and of the Gold Star (military) Wives of America.

A graveside service will be held in on Saturday, August 22 at 10:30 am at the Silver City Masonic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers a donation in her name to a favorite charity is requested.
