LucyBrdecko rsLUCY CRAWFORD BRDECKO, Deming resident entered eternal rest on Thursday August 20, 2015 at her home surrounded by her family.

Graveside funeral service will be held Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock at Mountain View Cemetery. G.G. Gore and Travis Swift will preside.

Lucy was born August 13, 1931 in Dexter, New Mexico. She came to Deming in 1944 with her parents and 3 brothers. Her family ranched on the South end of the Florida Mountains. Lucy was a wife, mother and grandmother and was a bus driver for 40 years. She was a 4-H Leader and very active with 4-H and FFA for many years. Lucy married Tommy Brdecko December 3, 1949 in Deming.

Tommy and Lucy had 5 children: Tommy F. Brdecko (Jodie), Tricia Elbrock (Edward), David, deceased, Janice Blandford and James Brdecko. Beloved grandchildren, Kenny Brdecko, deceased, Chlo Brdecko, Candy Pitkin(Ronnie), Bunch Swift (Lindsay), Travis Swift, Cody Brdecko, Jack Blandford (Braeden), Joseph Lester, Ashleigh Brdecko; beloved great-grandchildren, Madalyn and Morgan Brdecko, Cassey Heath, Tristan Pitkin, Tell Swift, Kelsie Brdecko and Tyler Cutbirth; 3 brothers and a sister, John Crawford (Peggy), Neal Crawford, Nathan Crawford and Bobbie; numerous nieces and nephews and her best friend, Louise Tolman. She loved her dogs, Kleo and Sissy.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Tom and Sallie Crawford, Ollie Morgan; son, David Brdecko; son-in-law, Will Swift and grandson, Kenny Brdecko.

In lieu of flowers the family request that memorial contributions be made to Luna County 4-H Council or Hidalgo County 4-H Council.
