SantosSierra rsSantos L. Sierra 90 a Hurley resident passed away August 25, 2015 at his home.

Visitation will be begin at 5 O'clock in the evening Sunday, August 30, 2015 at Baca's Funeral Chapels. The Holy Rosary will be recited at 6 O'clock by Dr. Gilbert Arizaga. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 10 O'clock in the morning at Infant Jesus Shrine. Concluding services and interment will follow at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Cemetery, Father Anthony Basso officiating.

Santos was born November 1, 1924 in Hurley, New Mexico to Antonio and Isabel (Landeros) Sierra. He served in the United States Army during World War II from 1944-1946. He retired from Kennecott Copper Mines in 1974. He was married to Dora C. Sierra for 71 years.

He is survived by his loving wife, Dora Sierra, his children Daniel C. Sierra of Hurley, Rita Peru of Gila and Henry Sierra (Rose) of Las Cruces, 11 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving Santos is his brother Arthur Sierra (Susie) of Silver City and his sisters Helen Archuleta of Kearny, AZ., Esperanza Alviso of Palm Springs, CA., Chila Abalos (Edward) of Silver City and Chavela Arzola (Danny) of Mesa, AZ.

He is preceded in death by Samuel C., David C. and Bobby Sierra and grandson David C. Sierra Jr.

Serving as pallbearers will be Max Peru Jr., Timothy Lianoz, Angel and Henry Sierra, Steven Castillo, Rudy Silva, Ernie Archuleta and Albert Cazares. Honorary pallbearers are his remaining grandsons and family.
