LeonorGutierrez RSLeonor Chica Gutierrez Garcia, 80, was called home on August 30, 2015 to be with our Lord and Savior.

She was at her residence, surrounded by her loving family.

A public viewing is scheduled for 9 AM, Thursday, September 3, 2015 at Holy Family Mission in Columbus, NM.

Mass of the Resurrection is set to follow at10 AM, with Fr. Ron Machado officiating, with concluding services and interment to follow at Valley Heights Cemetery in Columbus.

Leonor was born July 1, 1935 in Janos, Chihuahua to Rafael and Cayetana Gutierrez.

She married Daniel Garcia on December 13, 1953.

They traveled the country raising their family while her husband worked for the Southern Pacific Railroad.

They eventually settled in Columbus, where she dedicated her life to raising their family.

A devoted wife and mother, Leonor will be remembered for her selfless nature and nurturing spirit. Leonor welcomed everyone into her home and her loving and accepting kind-heartedness knew no bounds.

A devout Roman Catholic her entire life, she was a member of the Holy Family Mission in Columbus.

She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Daniel Garcia of the home; seven daughters, Maricela (Manny) Reyes of Columbus, Patricia Garcia of Columbus, Leonor (Julian) Hidalgo of Wausau, WI, Sandra (Omar) Arledge of Columbus, Monica (Daniel) Makens of Las Cruces, Josie (John) Zaremba of Eagle River, AK, and Anna Garcia of Basalt, CO; two sisters, Ramona Chavez of Palomas, Chihuahua and Elvira Castillo of Chihuahua, Chihuahua ; one brother, Jose Gutierrez of Palomas, Chihuahua;18 grandchildren, Daniel, Elena, Michael, Carlos, Melissa, Jesus, Jesus, Alex, David, Lucas, Eric, Jacob, Mariano, Breana, Cristian, John, Sophia, and Ashley; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Leonor was preceded in death by her daughter Elvira Garcia in 2012.
