Jose D. Villalobos, 80, a resident of Bayard, NM entered eternal rest Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at Mt. View Regional Medical Center in Las Cruces, NM.

He was born April 10, 1935 in Hanover, NM to Concepcion and Antonia Villalobos. It has been said that the best dads get promoted to be grandpas. That is true in our case. Our grandpa was a good storyteller, a listener, a good friend and certainly not least the example of what charity truly is.

Jose was known for being a hardworking man in the mines as well for his kind acts to everyone around him. He loved traveling, taking pictures everywhere he went. He loved his family, his three children and also his beautiful bride. He had love for nature he also possessed the talent of drawing as well, he served his country proudly. Most importantly he carried a prayer in his heart everyday of his life, for anyone he came in contact with. A great man we belong to and we will carry on in our hearts till we meet again. He is survived by his loving wife, Trinidad "Trini" Villalobos of the family home; one son, Tommy Villalobos of Santa Clara; one daughter, Gloria Flores and companion Ruben Lara of Roswell; five grandchildren, Gabriel Flores, Laura and Victoria Flores of Roswell; Robert and Stephanie Villalobos; one great grandson to be; one brother, Benito Villalobos and wife Julia of Bayard; one sister, Rosie Montes and husband Tommy of Bayard.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Joe Villalobos; two brothers, Chon and Jesus Villalbos.

Visitation will be Monday, September 21 from 9-10am at Terrazas Funeral Chapels with the Prayer Vigil and Holy Rosary to begin at 10am with Father Roberto Barreto officiating. Concluding service interment will follow with full military honors at Fort Bayard National Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Gabriel Flores, Anthony Montez, Ruben Lara and Robert Villalobos.
