Kenneth (Ken) Foster 79, a Silver City resident passed away Saturday, September 19, 2015 at his home.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, September 22, 2015, at 11 O'clock in the morning at St. Francis Newman Center Parish, officiating is Father Tony Basso.

Ken was born on July 2, 1936 in Sand Springs, Oklahoma. He spent his growing years in Lovell, Wyoming. Ken served his country in the U.S. Air Force with the 43rd A&E. Mr. Foster's professional career was in space research and development with ITT at the U.S. Western Test Range at Vandenberg A.F.B., outside of Lompoc, California where he raised his family. His work also involved him in projects at John Hopkins and The Goddard Space Center.

Mr. Foster is survived by his wife of 57 years Jovita "Jo" Foster, of Silver City; Son Bruce Foster (Debbie); Daughter Kristen Bettendorf (Jeff); his five grandchildren Mark, Alyssa, and Camille Foster, and Arielle and Martenne Bettendorf all of Portland, Oregon; sister's Imogene Taff of Sand Springs, OK, and Joyce Zarate, Byron, WY.

He was preceded in death by his eldest son Ken J. Foster.

Ken had asked that in lieu of flowers that a donation be made to the St. Francis Newman Parish - New Building Fund.
