LorenzoMunoz1 smLorenzoMunoz2 smLorenzo Maldonado Muñoz, 82, a resident of Silver City, NM entered eternal rest Monday, September 28, 2015 at his residence. He was born August 10, 1933 in Gila, NM to Julio Muñoz and Petra Maldonado.

Mr. Muñoz loved being outdoors fishing; golfing and camping with his family were his best vacations. He got up each morning, started working on his list of things to do that he prepared the night before and finished it by the end of the day.

His hands were always busy; if he had nothing else to do he would take a piece of wood and carve the neatest knife. His mind was also busy with reading book after book, doing family history, crossword puzzles, taking pictures and organizing picture albums.

He never spoke negative words to or about anyone. One might say he was a disciplined person; always thoughtful, caring and giving service to all. He was a kind and understanding man to his wife of 58 years, to his three daughters, son and grandkids. A very neat man, who was always organized, neatly kept things around the house. Quietly he did good, never wanting praise. Now this gentle giant has gone home to rest.

He is survived by his loving wife of 58 yrs., Consuelo "Connie" Muñoz of Silver City; one son, Samuel "Sam" Muñoz of Gila; two daughters, Eva Vial and husband Dave of Vancouver, WA; Anna Vial and husband John of Medford, OR; twelve grandchildren, Leslie, Jennifer, Monica, Emily, Matthew, Amber, James, Devin, Aubrey, Steven, Michelle and Krystal; two brothers, Joe Muñoz of Silver City; Julio Muñoz of Silver City; two sisters, Paula Estrada of Hurley; Jovita Sepulveda of Fullerton, CA; son-in-law, Senovio Perea of Silver City.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Della Perea (2014) and one brother, Calixtro Muñoz.

Visitation will be Friday, October 2nd from 10-11am at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. The funeral service will follow at 11am with Bishop Neil McDonald officiating. Concluding services interment will follow at Memory Lane cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Julio Muñoz, Senovio Perea, Steven Perea, Tony Dominguez, Charlie Muñoz and Laramie Perrault. Honorary pallbearers will be Joe Muñoz, Jerry McDonald, Gary Hulsey, Martin Muñoz and Sam Muñoz.
