Cuca R. Tovar, 94, resident of Lordsburg passed away Thursday October 8, 2015 at her home.

A Prayer vigil will be Monday October 12, 2015 at 10 o'clock in the morning at St. Joseph's Catholic Church led by Alice Ramirez. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:30 with Fr. Ron Machado officiating. Concluding services and interment will follow at Shakespeare Cemetery.

Cuca was born January 22, 2921 in Valedon, New Mexico to Feliciano and Maria (Varela) Talavera. She met the love of her life, Emilio Tovar and they later moved to Woodland, California where they spent many wonderful years together. They eventually returned to Lordsburg in 2001 to be near their local family. She and Emilio loved to dance and they rarely ever passed up the opportunity to be on the dance floor. Cuca was an amazing mother, grandmother, great grandmother and caregiver. She always enjoyed doing things with and for her family as they were always the most important to her.

She is survived by her son, Ruben Tovar (Araceli) of Lordsburg; daughters, Irene Gomez of lordsburg, Dora Nunez (Santos) of Woodland, CA, Priscilla Andrade of Lordsburg; 2 brothers, Arturo Talavera and Benardo "Benny" Talavera of Lordsburg; 19 grandchildren and numerous great and great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Emilio, her parents, Feliciano and Maria, brothers Efren, Feliciano, Hilario, Reydesel, Angel and Juan Talavera and sister, Rosa T. Morelos.
