DanielBoone RSDaniel (Boone) A. Lopez, 66, a Grant County resident passed away Saturday, October 10, 2015 at Mountain View Regional Medical Center in Las Cruces surrounded by his loved ones.

Visitation will be held Sunday, October 18, 2015 at 5 O'clock in the evening at Baca's Funeral Chapels with the Holy Rosary recited at 6 O'clock by Deacon Bill Holguin. The Mass of the Christian burial will be celebrated Monday, October 19, 2015 at 10 a.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. Concluding services and interment will follow at Pinos Altos Cemetery, officiating is Father Oliver Obele.

Boone was born June 18, 1949 in Silver City to Pilar Arzaga and Alvino Lopez. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. Boone also enjoyed working on cars and driving his 1966 Corvette, which he restored. He loved his grandkids and family very much and enjoyed spending time with them.

He is survived by his siblings; Manny Arzaga (Reene), Fred and Eddie Cuevas (Annette), Gloria Torrez (Alfonso) and Cecilia Montoya Acosta (George), his grandsons; Danny Jo Lopez and Francisco Castillo (Dayne) great-grandchildren Alexis, Elinana, Gabriela, Marielle Castillo. Also surviving Boone is his sister-in-law Virginia Cuevas and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents Alvino Lopez and Pilar Arzaga, his son Danny Lopez (Boonie), his siblings; Roy Ybarra, Mike, David, Alfonso, Patricia and Paul Cuevas.

Serving has pallbearers are Tommy Arzaga, Brandon, Daniel, Royce and Nathan Cuevas, Billy Davila Orlando Ortega and Ray Montoya Jr.
