Betsy Sharon Evans, 73, a Deming resident, passed away Tuesday October 13, 2015 at her home.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Cremation will be at Baca's Mimbres Crematory.

Betsy was born July 20, 1942 in Wichita, Kansas to Jeanne B. Quinn and Warren B. Thrasher. She was a microbiologist, an artist and had owned and operated a business in Silver City called "Dream Walker". Betsy was a great cook, she loved her family, nature and had a deep passion for the ocean and water. She was a Deming resident for 15 years coming from Silver City.

Survivors include her husband, Lou Montoya of the home; 3 sons, David Loyd Evans of White Signal, NM, James Carl Evans of Maricopa, Arizona, Warren Keith Evans of Safford, Arizona; daughter, Lisa Jean Vogeli of Deming; 14 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Warren and Jeanne Thrasher.
