Mary Trujillo, 83, longtime Deming resident passed away Thursday, October 15, 2015 at her home.

Visitation will be Monday October 19, 2015 starting 4 o'clock at Baca's Funeral Chapel with the prayer vigil that evening at 6 o'clock to be led by Suzanne Lundy. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Family Catholic Church on Tuesday October 20, 2015 at 10 o'clock in the morning with Fr. Ron Machado officiating. The rite of committal and interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery.

Mary was born November 22, 1931 to Beatrice Chavez and Jose Dominguez in Belen. On June 6, 1949 she married Emilio Trujillo in Belen and in 1951 they moved to Deming where they raised their family and were actively involved in the schools and community. She was very active at Holy Family Parish and will long be remembered for the Holy Week "Velorio", a northern New Mexico Spanish Tradition, she hosted at the family home every Lenten season. For many years she was administrator at the local Planned Parenthood Center. In her latter years she participated at the Deming Senior Citizen Center and was especially fond of the dancing evenings. Many will remember the family home with the yellow poppies transplanted from the Florida Mountains in which she took great pride.

She is survived by husband Emilio Trujillo of Deming; 3 sons, Jerry Trujillo and wife Carol of Albuquerque, Frank Trujillo and wife Cathy of Amarillo, TX and Mike Trujillo of Santa Rosa, CA; daughter, Betty Trujillo of Los Lunas; 5 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by parents, 4 siblings and son, Tony Trujillo on September 6, 2014.

Serving as pallbearers are Jeremy, Jeff, Lucas, and Timothy Trujillo.
