BrettPruit RSBrett David Pruit entered eternal peace on Oct. 22, 2015. Services will be held Wednesday, Oct. 28, at 2 p.m. at Bright Funeral Home Chapel.

He was born April 19, 1958, and lived most of his 57 years in Silver City.

In his youth Brett enjoyed playing baseball and riding bulls and broncs in rodeos. He learned to fish and hunt at a young age and all his life he spent sharing his talent for fishing and hunting with others. With his guidance many others caught their first fish or killed their first buck.

As a young man he started his career with the electric company as a lineman. He then found his niche working with heavy equipment, for which he had a natural talent. In 1994 he had a severe accident, which limited his ability to work regularly, but he continued to do odd jobs helping and working where he could.

Brett was the type of person who would help anyone anytime. He had a lot of common sense and could figure out how to fix most things and how to overcome most obstacles.

Brett is survived by his mother, Marge Pruit of Silver City; two sisters, Peggy Tavizon and her husband, Ray, of Silver City, and Sherri Meyer and her husband, Brian, of Joshua, Texas; and his two children, Dj Pruit of Dallas, Texas, and Danielle Pruit of Silver City. Brett also had two grandsons, Joey and Charlie Pruit, and his third grandchild will be born any day. Brett also enjoyed his nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his dad, Wayne Pruit.
