TommyBrdecko RSTOMMY A. BRDECKO, Deming resident entered eternal rest on Friday October 30, 2015 at his home surrounded by his family.

Graveside service will be held Wednesday morning November 4, 2015 at 11 o'clock at Mountain View Cemetery. G.G. Gore and Travis Swift will preside.

Tommy was born July 8, 1929 in Deming on the family farm. He was a farmer, had worked for Deming Implement, and was a bus driver. Tommy was a husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Tommy married Lucy Crawford on December 3, 1949 in Deming. 5 children were born to him, Tommy F. Brdecko (Jodie), Tricia Elbrock (Edward), David, deceased, Janice Blandford and James Brdecko; grandchildren, Kenny Brdecko, deceased, Chlo Brdecko, Candy Pitkin (Ron), Bunch Swift (Lindsay), Travis Swift, Cody Brdecko, Jack Blandford (Braeden), Joseph Lester, Ashleigh Brdecko; great-grandchildren, Madalyn and Morgan Brdecko, Cassandra Heath, Tristan Pitkin, Tell Swift, Kelsie Brdecko and Tyler Cutbirth; sister, Virgie Gilbert (Dick) and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Lucy Brdecko; his parents, Frank and Vera Brdecko; son, David Brdecko; son-in-law, Will Swift; grandson, Kenny Brdecko; brothers, Frankie, Tony and Bobby Brdecko and a sister, Ana Mae Phillips.

He dedicated 30 years as a 4-H leader and FFA supporter; he was also a volunteer worker for Helping Hands. His accomplishments were: outstanding Young Farmer Award, Star Green Hand Farmer Award, Star Chapter Farmers Award, Star State Farmer Award, Star American Farmer Award, Luna County Cowboy Hall of Fame; won numerous livestock July contest on all levels, local, district, state and national judging contests. He also served on S.W.N.M. State Fair Board, F.H.A. Commission, 4-H Leader and F.F.A Committee.

In lieu of flowers the family request memorial contributions be made to Luna County and Hidalgo County 4-H Council.
