Dr. Melvin Schaeffer, 87, a resident of Silver City, NM entered eternal rest Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at his residence. Melvin was born on August 20, 1928 in Paterson, New Jersey to Barney and Sally Schaeffer. He enjoyed spending time the most with his dog, Acey, a Great Dane. Also, photography and computers were pastime favorites of his. He truly loved his children and will be greatly missed by them.

He is survived by his loving wife, Donna Lee Schaeffer; two sons, Steve Schaeffer of California and Jeff Schaeffer of Colorado; and one daughter, Linda Webster of California. He is preceded in death by one son, Bruce Schaeffer; his brother, Lenny Schaeffer; and his sister, Betty Schwartz. Cremation will take place at Terrazas Crematory. No memorial services will be held per Melvin's wishes.
