LuisFlores RSLuis V. Flores 95, a Bayard resident entered into eternal rest on November 3, 2015 at Fort Bayard Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.

Luis was born December 25, 1919. He served his country faithfully and honorably in the United States Army. He worked as a driller at Kennecott Copper Corporation and was a member of the Knights of Columbus, and parishioner of Our Lady of Fatima Church. Luis was known and admired for his loving, kind and generous heart. He was one of the longest living patriarchs from Santa Rita and was loved and cherished by his family and all who had the honor and privilege of knowing him.

He is survived by a son, Aurelio Flores (Pauline); daughter, Dolores Flores; two brothers, Monce Flores (Christy) and Francisco Flores (Elisa) as well as two sisters, Rose Mary Alvarado and Anita Marquez; four grandchildren, Pat Flores, Rebecca Dominguez, Valerie Allred, Thomas Flores; six great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents Aurelio and Librada, and stepfather Charles Stevenson. Also by his loving wife Anastasia, son Luis, brother Florencio, and sister Margaret.

Visitation will be from 5 to 6 O'clock in the evening Monday, November 9, 2015 at Baca's Funeral Chapels where the Recitation of the Holy Rosary will follow at 6:00 O'clock. The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:30 in the morning Tuesday, November 10, 2015 at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Bayard, NM with Fr. Paulus Kao officiating. Concluding services and interment will follow at 1 O'clock in the afternoon at Ft. Bayard National Cemetery with military honors accorded by the United States Army Honor Guard.

Serving as pallbearers will be Pat Flores, Thomas Flores, Michael Dominguez, Todd Allred, Marcus Flores and Christian Padilla. Honorary Pallbearers will be the rest of his family who loved and cherished him. He will be dearly missed.
