Glenn Baxter RSGlenn E. Baxter, 64, a resident of Mimbres NM and Hereford AZ entered eternal rest Monday, November 16, 2015 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was born August 1, 1951 in Philadelphia, PA to Gilbert Baxter and Ruth Lafferty. He is survived by his wife and best friend, Mary Bailey of the family home; one daughter, Natasha Bremer and husband Calvin of Fairmont, MN; two grandchildren, Weston and Paige Bremer; two brothers, Wayne Baxter and wife Peg of Peoria, AZ; Jeff Baxter of Durango, CO. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Deb Freeman.

Besides his great sense of humor, Glenn's many friends will remember his interests, capabilities and the help he was always ready to offer. Many people in Sierra Vista, AZ know that during the Christmas season he kept a grueling schedule posing as Santa Claus for pictures with pets at both New Frontier Animal Medical Center in Sierra Vista and at his wife Mary's "Goin' to Grandma's Bed and Biscuit Kennel" in Hereford. For many years he was a strong contributor to the Cochise County Humane Society where he served as President.

In Iowa, Glenn was a captain of the "The Flagship of the Iowa Navy," the Queen II, taking passengers around West Lake Okoboji. For another of his employers, Purina, he advised farm families on managing and improving their farms. Years later in Sierra Vista he managed the Ramsey Canyon Feed Store.

In recent years, Glenn took his interest in animals and knowledge of farm operations to the Mimbres Valley of NM, where he and Mary started their herd of hairy, horned Highland Cattle, a Scottish breed (Heilan Coos). Glenn also researched Native American culture, and he and Mary enjoyed finding Native American artifacts on their property.

A memorial will be held at the Mimbres United Methodist Church on Friday December 11th from 4pm to 7pm. The event is potluck, so please bring a dish to share. Arrangements and cremation are with Terrazas Funeral Chapels and Crematory "Trusted care for the ones you love" ~ 575-537-0777. To send condolences, visit www.terrazasfuneralchapel.com.
