Neysa Pritikin RSNeysa Pritikin passed away peacefully in her home on January 24, 2016, surrounded by family, friends and love.

Neysa was born May 18, 1949 in Chicago. She graduated from Brandeis in 1971 and got her masters in behavior modification at Southern Illinois University. She worked as a psychologist until she got her MBA at Northern Illinois University. In 1993 she moved to Silver City where she sold real estate and became a loan officer, connecting her clients with the community and more often than not becoming their friend. Neysa was a positive influence in Silver City, nurturing and supporting it's creative potential. She served as President of the Mimbres Region Arts Council and was instrumental in starting the Silver City Blues Festival. The artistic community of Silver City would not be as rich today without her. Graciousness, friendships and hospitality were hallmarks of her life; her loving bond with her parents was an inspiration. She had great compassion and love for her dogs and the animal kingdom in general. She had an adventurous spirit and a love of travel and delighted in the beauties and the wonders of the world.

She is survived by her father, Leonard Pritikin and her brother Steven Pritikin.

She was preceded in death by her mother Geneva Copeland Pritikin.

There will be a celebration of life for all those who knew and loved her Sunday, January 31, 2016 from 1:00 - 3:00 pm at the Pritikin home.

"Neysa sucked the marrow from the life she was given, a lesson for us all. She lived life to its fullest and did so with character and honor. Light is what she was in this world and that light remains for all of us that cherish the memory of her." (Mel Ylarraz, Neysa's friend)
