Robert Alan Bauer, 79, resident of Deming passed away Monday January 25, 2016 in the comfort of his home.

Robert was born November 24, 1936 in West Milwaukee, Wisconsin to William and Catherine (Bielder) Bauer.

He went to Milwaukee Vocational School earning his degree in baking, which he did until his retirement in 1995.

He and his wife June came to Deming in 2000 from Hartland, Wisconsin and locally he was an active member of Holy Family Catholic Church. He was currently serving as Navigator of the 4th Degree of the Knights of Columbus Saint Josephs Assembly. He also enjoyed volunteering at the Deming Luna Mimbres Museum, was a member of the Senior Circle, and also enjoyed woodworking, photography, playing with his computer, and especially liked to travel and explore the southwest.

He is survived by his wife June of Deming; daughter Gina Bauer (Anthony Lukach) of Waukesha, WI; son, Jeff Bauer (Kandi) of Oconomowoc, WI; sisters Ruth Bohms of Anchorage, AK, Audrey Jones (Ethan) of Alaska; sister in law Evie Bauer of Milwaukee, WI; 3 grandchildren, Hailey Lukach, Martin Bauer and Gavin Bauer; sister in law Mary Lund of Union Grove, WI, brother in law Andy Lund of Santee, CA; and many nieces, nephews and family friends.

He was preceded in death by 2 brothers, William Bauer Jr. and Donald Bauer.

Funeral mass will be Friday January 29, 2016 at 10 o'clock in the morning at Holy Family Catholic Church with Fr. Ron Machado, Pastor officiating. Cremation has taken place at Baca's Mimbres Crematory.

In lieu of flowers family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Knights of Columbus St. Joseph's Council, the Deming Luna Mimbres Museum, Cancer Support of Deming and Luna County, or to Ambercare.
