Barbara Rickman rsBARBARA L. RICKMAN, 64, a longtime resident of Deming passed away Wednesday January 27, 2016 in the comfort of her home.

Barbara was born December 1, 1951 in Roswell, New Mexico to Grady and Peggy (Connell) Cottrell. She lived in Deming most all her life and was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary. She was a working mom for awhile but eventually became a homemaker as her family grew and she became a grandma. Barbara liked to crochet, cook and especially take care of her grandchildren who she dearly loved.

She is survived by her longtime companion, William Franklin of Deming; son, Travis Allen Rickman of Hobbs; daughters, Tammy Jo Hernandez (Jose Luis) of Deming, Stevey Lynn Almanza (Ramon III) of Deming; brother, Steve Baldwin of Deming; half brother Roger Stace Cottrell of Arizona; half sisters, Brenda Hargrove of Pennsylvania, Traci Koch of Texas, Eddie Renee Beecroft of Arizona, Dana Cooper of Colorado; 13 grandchildrem, Jordan, Stephen, Teo, Travis, Tyrell, Benjamin, Gabriel, Kobe, Kyra, Miranda, Thomas, Aubrey and Anthony; and 5 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, son, Benny Jo Patterson, sister, Deborah Kay Pingleton, and half sister, Alica Sholars.

Visitation will be Monday morning, February 1, 2016 from 10 to 12 at Baca's Funeral Chapel where funeral services will begin at 12 noon with Pastor Mason Davis of Bethel Baptist Church officiating. Cremation will follow.
