Marcelina Garcia 1 rsMarcelina Garcia 2 rsMarcelina P. Garcia, 85, a lifetime resident of Bayard, NM entered eternal rest on Wednesday, April 6, 2016 in Albuquerque, NM at her Assisted Living residence.

She was born April 13, 1931 in El Valle de Zaragoza, Mexico to Jesus Jose Portillo and Marcelina Yanez Portillo.

She was a devoted and loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother and friend. Everywhere she went she brought an aura of love and laughter. She was a very generous and compassionate person and her family was her life.

Her hobbies were cooking, praying and adoring her Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren.

She was a strong prayer warrior leaving the family with an example of strong faith and devoted prayer. She was a devoted Catholic to our Lady of Fatima Parrish in Bayard, NM and was a member of the Guadalupana Society for many years.

She is survived by one son Manny Garcia of Arenas Valley; two daughters Barbara Cabrera and husband Sammy of Hurley; Veronica Rodriguez Garcia and husband Felipe of Albuquerque; six grandchildren, Victoria and Estrella Garcia of Arenas Valley, Armando Garcia, Monica Cabrera, TJ Cabrera and Jennifer Maynes; eight grandchildren, Tatiana, Marisa, Alicia, Anthony, Kailene, Jada, Noah, Julissa, Mia and Aleah; one sister, Nena Portillo of El Valle de Zaragoza, Mexico; one brother Pepe Portillo of El Valle de Zaragoza.

She is preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Fernando, Antonia and Ricardo Portillo; three sisters, Maria Gonzales, Angelita Ponce and Juanita Morales.

Visitation will be Thursday, April 14, 2016 from 5-6 pm at Terrazas Funeral Chapels with the holy rosary to begin at 6 pm with Carmen Terrazas reciting.

The funeral liturgy will be celebrated on Friday April 15, 2016 at 10 am at Our Lady of Fatima Church with Father Manuel Ibarra officiating. Concluding service interment will follow at Fort Bayard National Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Manny Garcia, Sam Cabrera, Felipe Rodriguez, Samuel Garcia, Armando Cabrera, TJ Cabrera, Anthony Cabrera and Estrella Garcia.
