Mary A. Maldonado, 79, of Silver City, entered eternal life on April 13, 2016, in El Paso, Texas.

Mary was a very strong-willed woman who enjoyed cooking, crocheting, gardening and canning. Her favorite TV series was "Little House on the Prairie," which she watched over and over. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother. Her smile will be greatly missed.

She is survived by one son, Manuel Maldonado; daughters, Vangie Chapin and her husband, James, Lilian Ogas, Susie Medina and her husband, Cal, and Debbie Maldonado; her brothers, Pablo Alvarado and Alfredo Hernandez; one sister, Gloria Alvarado; 19 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Manuel C. Maldonado; one son, Samuel Maldonado; daughter, Sally Swenson; her parents, Anastacio and Luz Alvarado; two sisters, Juan Fajardo and her husband, Edwardo Fajardo, and Sara Gonzales and her husband, Robert Gonzales; her brothers, Pete Hernandez and his wife, Lupe, Merijildo Qirroz and Mariano Hernandez; and her grandson, Robert J. Maldonado.

A Memorial Service will be held at Bright Funeral Home on Friday, April 22, at 4 p.m. Bright Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements, "Traditional Services and Care for Your Family and Friends," 210 W. College Ave., Silver City. Phone 575-388-1911.
