Marcello Contreras rsMarcello "Mark" Marcus Contreras, 41, a resident of Silver City, NM entered eternal rest Thursday, April 21, 2016 in Silver City, NM.

He was born December 25, 1974 in Silver City, NM to Frank Marcello Contreras and Dolores Bencomo.

Marcello "Mark" Contreras was an amazing son, father, brother, uncle, friend, boss, and overall person. Mark's greatest love was his children. Mark was also a father figure to all his nephews and nieces. Mark was truly the most unselfish, loving, and compassionate man. If anyone ever needed help with anything, Mark was more than willing to lend the helping hand.

Mark enjoyed and loved his job, his pets, hunting, playing cards, watching sporting events, playing his music too loud, and spending quality time with his family. Mark always had a smile on his face and there was never a dull moment with him around. He was always joking around and making everyone laugh. Mark was genuinely a great man and all of his family look up to him. He will be missed by many and his memories will forever stay in our hearts.

He is survived by his father, Frank "Bucky" Contreras of Las Cruces; his mother, Dolores Contreras of Silver City; one son, DeMarcus Contreras of Silver City; step-son, Devin Corral of Silver City; two daughters, Deedrie Contreras of Silver City; Adriannah Contreras of Silver City; three brothers, Steven Bencomo of Silver City; Frank "Tweety" Contreras and wife Shannon of Arenas Valley; Michael Contreras and wife Stephanie of Silver City; one sister, Sonia Bencomo-Castillo of Arenas Valley; paternal grandfather, Ben "Venti" Martinez of Deming; twelve nieces and nephews, Alexis, Krystal, Isaal, Carolyn, Brooke, Brandon, Brandi, Jr., Michael Jr., D Ana, Danyelle and Aiden; a great niece and nephew, Allison and Jaxson.

He was preceded in death by maternal grandmother, Apolonia Iena; maternal great grandparents, Ramon and Juanita "Mamita" Borrego; paternal grandmother, Lupe Martinez; one niece, Ashley Nicole Castillo.

Visitation will be Friday, April 29 from 5-6pm at Terrazas Funeral Chapels with the prayer vigil and holy rosary to begin at 6pm with Deacon Jerry Bustillos reciting. The funeral liturgy will be Saturday, April 30 at 10am at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church with Fr. Oliver officiating. Concluding service interment will follow at St. Vincent Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Javier Hernandez, Efren Canas, Manuel Jaure, Jobe Aguirre, Ryan Bencomo and Freddy Portillo. Honorary pallbearers will be the rest of his family and friends.
