Ernesto Valverde Garcia, 103, Las Vegas NM resident passed away Monday, April 25, 2016 at Vida Encantada Rehab and Nursing Home.

Ernesto was born June 1, 1912 to Santos Valverde and Alfonso Garcia in Silver City. He spent his life as a disabled person.

He is survived by nephew, Aurelio Leyba and wife Amelia of Silver City; 4 nieces, Estella Leyba of Colorado, Belinda Leyba of Hurley, Yolanda Tafoya of Silver City and Gloria Rangel of Las Cruces.

He was preceded in death by parents, Alfonso and Santos Garcia; 2 brothers and 3 sisters.

Visitation will begin Thursday April 28, 2016 at noon at Baca's Funeral Chapels in Deming with a rosary service to be held at 1 o'clock. The funeral liturgy will follow with Father Cyprian of Our Lady of Guadalupe Monastery officiating. The rite of committal and interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Benny Chavez, Roy Chavez, Willie Chavez, Jay Pena, Ernesto Renteria and Aurelio Leyba.
