Our mother, Senaida "Chenny" Costales Madrid, 79, passed away peacefully at her residence surrounded by her family on Monday, May 2, 2016.

She was born in Salem, NM on August 17, 1936 to Porfirio and Simona Costales.

She met our father Rudy at the age of 12. They married in May 26, 1952.

She is survived by her loving husband, Rudy of the family home; two daughters, Viola Villagran (Urbano) of Silver City; Olga Chavez (Arnold) of Silver City; one son, Bobby Madrid of Bayard; twelve grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Lou Costales of Albuquerque; Bertha Jordan of Roderfield, WV; one brother, Joe Costales of Albuquerque; numerous nieces, nephews and godchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Ernest "Neto" Costales; one son, Rudy Jr., one daughter, Eva "Evie" Madrid; one grandson, Roman Gabriel Marquez; her niece and god-daughter, Rosemary Castillo.

Visitation will be Saturday, May 7 from 9:30-10am at Terrazas Funeral Chapels with the prayer vigil and holy rosary to begin at 10am with Father Elias reciting. The funeral mass will follow at 10:30 am at Terrazas Funeral Chapels with Father Elias officiating. Concluding service interment will follow at St. Vincent Catholic cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Carlos Chavez, Robert Edens, Rudy Madrid, Oscar Madrid, P.J. Marquez and Armando Marquez. Honorary pallbearers will be Aurelio Leyba and all other grand and great grandsons.
