Barbara Lou Rice Rodriguez, 58, Deming resident passed away Friday April 29, 2016 at Mimbres Memorial Hospital.

She was born February 24, 1958 to Dorothy Marie Green and Elmer Lee Rice in Deming. Barbara was a homemaker and a childcare provider. She loved spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include 2 sons, Samuel Don Rodriguez and wife Diana, Victor Lee Sainz; grandchildren, Jacob Anthony Lopez, Kristen Faith Flores, Erika Raquel Lopez, Rebekah Ann Rodriguez; brother, Wayne Cardell and wife Martha Ann of Lompoc, CA; 2 sisters, Stella Lucille Wilton of Los Lunas, NM, JoNell Wilson and husband Orville of Roswell, NM.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer Lee and Dorothy Marie Rice; grandmother, Estella Marie Thigpen; sister, Dorothy "Pidge" Burd and brother, Curt Elmer Rice.

The funeral service will be Saturday morning May 7, 2016 at 11 o'clock at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints with First Counselor Edward Sokoloff officiating.

Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Baca's Mimbres Crematory.
