Charla Modena Holland, 78 of Hurley entered into eternal rest Thursday, May 5, 2016 at Casa de Oro Center in Las Cruces.

Charla was born April 25, 1938 to Martin and Lorene Kamstra in Fort Sill, Oklahoma.

She was a 1956 graduate of Lordsburg High School. Charla married Walter Holland August 7, 1956.

She graduated from Western New Mexico University in 1978, completing her Master's degree in 1980.

She went to work as a social worker for Ft. Bayard Medical Center in 1980 where she worked for twenty-one years. Charla retired as the Resident Services Director for Ft. Bayard in 2001.

Mrs. Holland was a member of the Bayard Church of Christ.

Mrs. Holland is survived by her husband, Walter Holland of Hurley, two daughters, Rebecca Nations (husband Daniel) and Cheryl Holland; one son Daryl Holland; two brothers, Duane Kamstra and Donald Kamstra; four grandsons, Daniel Wayne Nations (wife Beth), Thomas Nations (wife Naomi), Rusty Nations (wife Liz) and Jason Williams; her great-grandchildren include Kyleigh and Cameron Nations, Ryan and Madison Nations, Caterina Deleon and Ryan Stinson.

Mrs. Holland was preceded in death by her sister Glenda Johnson.

Memorial Services will be held at Silver City Church of Christ Friday, May 13, at 2 O'clock in the afternoon with Mr. Floyd Robertson officiating.
