Rita O. Rodriguez, 61, a resident of Santa Clara, NM entered eternal rest Sunday, May 22, 2016 at her residence surrounded by her family.

She was born July 9, 1954 in Silver City, NM to Gregorio Ortega and Eluvina Zamora.

She is survived by his loving husband Edward "Eddie" L. Rodriguez of the family home; her children, Corrina Maestas (Derek), Valerie Palomarez (Johnny), Christopher Allison, step children, Dion Rodriguez, Dee Ann Rodriguez, Benjie Rodriguez and Lynn Sanchez; twenty-two grandchildren, Jadyen, Candace and Alyshia Maestas, Johnny, Matthew, Justin, Gabriel and Zackary Palomarez, Brandy Rodriguez, Angela Trujillo, Zetha, Joseph and Nannett Rodriguez, Maricella Rodriguez, Christopher, Aaron, Zander, Rion, Gabriella, Ethan, Jubal and Jasmine; three great-grandchildren, Ezekiel, Aydriana and Ava; brothers and sisters, Billy Ortega (Ester), Steve Ortega (Sylvia), Sista Clark (Richard) and Velma Apodaca (Mike).

She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Espirion and Eduardo Ortega.

Visitation will be Wednesday, May 25 from 5-6pm at Terrazas Funeral Chapels with the holy rosary and prayer vigil to begin at 6pm with Dr. Gilbert Arizaga reciting. The funeral liturgy will be celebrated on Thursday, May 26 at 9:30am at Santa Clara Church with Father Robert Becerra officiating. Concluding service interment will follow at Fort Bayard National Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Johnny Palomarez Jr., Matthew Palomarez, Joni Ortega, Kevin Ortega, Gregory Apodaca and Eduardo Ortega Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Dion Rodriguez and Johnny Palomarez Sr.
