Marjorie Judith Upton-Hill 77 a long time resident of Silver City, NM passed away Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at her son's residence in Peoria, Arizona with a long battle of cancer.

She was born in Silver City March 22, 1939 to Kenneth and Marjorie Shellhorn of Glenwood.

She graduated from Reserve High School in 1957, she married Robert D. Upton Sr., in July 22, 1957 then moved to Silver City where they had three children.

During this time, she was active in the family drilling business, worked in the Silver Schools lunch program, drove a school bus for many years, became a certified EMT/security guard at Chino Mines Co. and traveled to Brazil for missionary work with her church. She was also an active member of the Indian Hills Baptist Church in Silver City and Central Christian Church in Glendale, Arizona.

She married John Hill in June 1988 in Silver City, where they provided supplies to forest fire crews as well handy man work throughout Grant County.

Some of her favorite hobbies included working in her yard with her flowers and plants, hunting, fishing and camping with her family. She spent lots of time dancing and enjoying holidays with family.

She is survived by her son Tim Upton (Shelia), of Peoria, Arizona, and daughter Renee Upton of Silver City, one sister Robin Page (Kurt) of Las Cruces and one brother Dennis Shellhorn of Silver City, six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers the family wishes for donations to be made in her name to Banner Oncology Dept., Banner Health Foundation, 2901 N. Central Ave. Suite 160, Phoenix, Arizona 85012.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday June 11, 2016 at Bright Funeral Home Chapel at 11:00 am.
