Bruce Helmig, 66, a resident of Silver City passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at his home.

Bruce was born October 4, 1949 in Independence Missouri. Bruce moved to San Francisco, CA in 1975 where he worked as a commercial real estate property manager and as an accountant. In 2004 he relocated to Silver City where he was co-owner of Isaacs Bar and Grill. He established and funded the

Rick Hoefler Memorial Fund which benefited many Silver City residents. Bruce loved going to "The Pink Store" in Palomas, Mexico. He told a friend, not long before his death, "on my way out of this world, I am going to stop by the Pink Store and have a nice visit and a couple of margaritas with my loving "Friends across the border" and then have another margarita to toast all of my loved ones in Silver City and Tucson. Salud! May the wind be always at your back my friends".

He is survived a brother in Phoenix, AZ and three nephews. Charley and Timmy as well as many many friends who loved him dearly also survive him.

He is preceded in death by his domestic partner Rick Hoefler, his parents, one brother and his loving companions Herman and Maggie.

Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be announced at a later date.
