Dayton Joseph Marcott, 90, resident of Deming passed away Thursday June 16, 2016 at Mimbres Memorial Hospital.

Dayton was born July 23, 1925 in Fifield, Wisconsin and served his country honorably in the United States Navy during WW II. After the war, he became a truck driver for PIE and Safeway for the next 40 years.

In retirement, his personal feeling about life was that he wanted to make this world a better place and did so by being involved with Red Cross in Bonners Ferry, Idaho, being a Hospice Volunteer, and being a strong supporter of human rights. He also was a HAM Radio Operator and worked for emergency services including MARS. Dayton has been a resident of Deming since 2009 and was a member of the DAV, and helped with food distribution as long as he was able. Dayton was a member of the Baha'i Faith.

His immediate family includes his wife Patricia; sons Dallas Marcott and Dayton Timothy Marcott; 2 brothers, 1 sister and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by 1 son, Kevin Marcott.

A graveside service will be Wednesday June 29, 2016 at 11 o'clock in the morning at Ft. Bayard National Cemetery.
